Intermediate Youth Class

A steel drum and percussion ensemble for grades 5 and up is offered at Aircut Music Studio, 662 Upham Street in San Luis Obispo.

Calypso, reggae, pop, classical are just some of the styles that will be taught. Students will learn about all the elements of music through this unique method of instruction. Previous musical experience is a benefit, but not mandatory. Instruments will be provided. Live performances in San Luis Obispo will be scheduled.

Instructor is Patty Dee, MA Ed.

Patty Dee has a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction and a CA Multiple Subjects and Music Credential. She has taught elementary school classroom music and band in the CA public schools for the past 16 years. She has taught steel drum classes through the Cuesta College Community Programs for the past 6 years. She is a violist in the San Luis Chamber Orchestra and volunteers with the San Luis Obispo Symphony Education Committee.
